No. After the project is selected, the service provider is chosen through an open competitive bidding process managed by the Secretariat (KIND) for the Smart City & Solution program.

Applications are accepted year-round. However, projects submitted in a given year will be considered for selection* in the following year.

Yes. If different ministries or local governments within a country plan separate projects, multiple submissions are allowed. However, within the same city, only one project may be submitted per governing jurisdiction.

Please submit one copy of the Call for Proposal (including the application form) signed or sealed by the head of the relevant ministry, one copy of the Inter-Agency Collaboration Commitment Letter, and one copy of the Agreement on the Provision of Relevant Materials and Cooperation.

Selection results will be notified via the email you submitted, and can also be checked on the project application status page on the website.

Yes. Participation in both project types is allowed.

However, as the objectives, eligibility requirements, and implementation processes differ between the two programs, applicants are advised to review the specific requirements of each project type carefully before applying.

The Smart City & Solution program consists of Smart City Planning and Smart Solution Planning.

   • Smart City Planning: This supports the development of smart city master plans to enhance the competitiveness of new and existing cities, including phased implementation plans and priority projects.

• Smart Solution Planning: This provides support for planning and feasibility analysis necessary to introduce, build, and operate customized smart solutions aimed at solving existing urban problems.

When an overseas government submits a project proposal, the K-City Network Secretariat (KIND) may, if necessary prior to project selection, coordinate the scope of work through consultations with local partner institutions and on-site field assessments.
