Korea Overseas Infrastructure & Urban Development Corporation (KIND) (hereinafter referred to as “the Corporation”) complies with the Personal Information Protection Act and all related laws to protect the rights and freedoms of data subjects. The Corporation processes personal information lawfully and manages it safely. In accordance with Article 30 of the Personal Information Protection Act, the Corporation establishes and discloses this Privacy Policy to inform data subjects of the procedures and standards for handling personal information and to ensure smooth processing of related inquiries and complaints.

Article 1. Purpose of Processing Personal Information

  • 1. The Corporation processes personal information for the following purposes. The personal information being processed is not used for any purpose other than those stated below. If the purpose of use changes, the Corporation will take necessary measures such as obtaining separate consent in accordance with Article 18 of the Personal Information Protection Act.

Article 4. Provision of Personal Information to Third Parties

  • 1. The Corporation provides personal information to third parties only in cases that fall under Articles 17 and 18 of the Personal Information Protection Act, such as when the data subject has given consent or when required by special provisions of the law.
    • a. When separate consent has been obtained from the data subject
    • b. When required by special provisions of the law or when it is unavoidable to comply with legal obligations
    • c. When the data subject or legal representative is unable to express intent, or when prior consent cannot be obtained due to reasons such as an unknown address, and it is clearly necessary for the urgent protection of the life, body, or property of the data subject or a third party
    • d. When personal information must be used for purposes other than its original purpose, or must be provided to a third party, in order to perform duties prescribed by another law, and such use or provision has been reviewed and approved by the Personal Information Protection Commission
    • e. When necessary to provide personal information to a foreign government or an international organization for the implementation of treaties or other international agreements
    • f. When necessary for the investigation of crimes, the filing or maintenance of prosecutions
    • g. When necessary for the performance of judicial functions by the courts
    • h. When necessary for the execution of sentencing, custody, or protective measures
  • 2. The Corporation, in principle, processes personal information only within the scope specified in Article 1 of the Personal Information Protection Act (Purpose of Processing Personal Information). Personal information is provided to third parties only in cases falling under Articles 17 and 18 of the Act, such as when the data subject has given consent or when required by special provisions of the law. Except for these cases, the Corporation does not provide personal information to any third party.
  • 3. The Corporation provides personal information to third parties only to the minimum extent necessary and only with the consent of the data subject, as shown below.

Article 6. Principles for Destruction of Personal Information

The Corporation, in principle, destroys personal information without delay when it becomes unnecessary, such as when the purpose of processing has been achieved or when the retention and usage period has expired.
  • 1. Procedure for Destroying Personal Information
    • a. The Corporation prepares a destruction plan for personal information (or personal information files) that must be destroyed and proceeds with destruction accordingly.
    • b. When grounds for destruction arise, the Corporation destroys the relevant personal information after obtaining approval from the Personal Information Protection Officer.
  • 2. Methods for Destroying Personal Information
    • a. The Corporation prepares a destruction plan for personal information (or personal information files) that must be destroyed and proceeds with destruction accordingly.

Article 7. Measures to Ensure the Security of Personal Information

The Corporation takes the following measures to ensure the security of personal information.
  • 1. Administrative Measures: Establishment and implementation of an internal management plan, regular employee training
  • 2. Technical Measures: Access control management for personal information processing systems, installation of access control systems, installation of security programs
  • 3. Physical Measures: Access restrictions to areas where data is stored (such as the computer room)

Article 8. Installation, Operation, and Refusal of Automatic Personal Information Collection Devices

  • 1. The Corporation does not provide customized services to users and does not use automated personal information collection tools (hereinafter referred to as “cookies”) that automatically collect or store user information.
  • 2. Accordingly, no cookie information from this website is stored in the user’s web browser.
  • 3. However, if cookies become necessary in the future for purposes such as analyzing usage statistics or improving services, the purpose and details of cookie usage, as well as methods for opting out, will be clearly stated in advance and added to this provision.

If a data subject’s rights or interests have been infringed due to a disposition or omission by the head of a public institution in response to a request made under Articles 35 (Access to Personal Information), 36 (Correction and Deletion of Personal Information), or 37 (Suspension of Processing of Personal Information) of the Personal Information Protection Act, the data subject may file an administrative appeal in accordance with the Administrative Appeals Act.
