In accordance with Article 30 of the Act on the “Promotion of Smart City Development and Industry”, the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport of the Republic of Korea (MOLIT) hereunder calls for projects to be implemented under the 2026 K-City Network Global Cooperation Program for Smart Solution Demonstration.

Calls for Projects: 2026 K-City Network Global Cooperation Program for Smart Solution Demonstration

1. (Introduction to the KCN) The K-City Network Global Cooperation Program (hereinafter referred to as the “KCN”) was launched in 2020 to share Korea’s smart city development expertise and experience with countries and cities interested in Korea’s smart city model and technologies.

2. (KCN Programs) Under the KCN framework, the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport of the Republic of Korea (MOLIT) supports projects for 1. Smart City Planning and Smart Solution Planning and 2. Smart Solution Demonstration with scales and details of the support provided differing between individual projects. The following is the description of the KCN Program for Smart Solution Demonstration.

3. (Purpose) The KCN Program for Smart Solution Demonstration aims to share Korea’s smart solutions with countries and cities to help address specific urban problems they face through application of smart technologies while giving Korean businesses opportunities to demonstrate abroad the smart solutions they developed and provide in Korea.

4. (Applicants) Eligible applicants for smart solution demonstration projects are Korean businesses/organizations which lead the project consortiums formed with foreign national/regional/city governments that will host the smart solution demonstration projects (hereinafter referred to as the “overseas partner governments”). To confirm the establishment of the project consortium, applicants are required to submit either a Letter of Intent (LOI) or Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) signed with the overseas partner governments.

5. (Support) MOLIT will provide grants for the smart solution development and establishment. Up to six projects will be selected and the maximum grants to each project selected will be from 300 million to 400 million KRW.

6. (Project Selection) Korea Agency for Infrastructure Technology Advancement (KAIA), the KCN Secretariat commissioned by MOLIT to manage the Smart Solution Demonstration projects, will evaluate the project proposals and oral project presentations delivered by the Korean business/organization applicants according to the criteria presented in the “Guidelines for the 2026 KCN Program for Smart Solution Demonstration”.

7. (Deadline) Applications should be submitted to the KCN Secretariat by e-mail (kcitysolution@kaia.re.kr) no later than 5 p.m. on Tuesday 17th of March, 2026.
